Professional Baseball Player. A 19th century star outfielder, he led the majors in hits, doubles, triples (three times), home runs (four times), runs (four times), RBIs, stolen bases, batting average, and slugging percentage (three times). Single season marks include: .404 batting average; 25 triples; 19 home runs; 152 runs; 119 RBI; 97 stolen bases; and a .648 slugging percentage. Harry retired from the majors in 1893, settled in New Bedford, Mass. and embarked on a career in the New Bedford Police Department where he eventually achieved the rank of police chief.
