Student Dies of Blast Injury
MOAB, Utah- A University of Wyoming student died Wednesday, five days after his jackhammer apparently hit a buried stick of dynamite.
Kenneth Daniel Houtz, married only two weeks ago, died at a hospital here. His injury occured on the last scheduled work day for the 19-year-old student, who had planned to return to his home in Evanston.
Houtz worked for his brother, who contraced to dig line pole holes for the Utah Power & Light Co. through Big Indian Valley in San Juan county.
Houtz lost his left leg in the explosion. His condition Saturday was good but attendants said he had a relapse Sunday.
Houtz married Jule Ann Nottage in Denver Aug. 22
