AGIUS, Marie Julia Chick Passed away at home in Petaluma, Saturday, August 26, 2000. Beloved wife of Frank Agius of Petaluma. Adored mother of Catherine Agius Miller of Petaluma, Michele Agius Michl of Redding and Frank Agius Jr. of Clearlake. Loving mother-in-law of Mick Michl, Denise Agius and Bob OShea. Loving and special grandmother of Tim Miller of San Rafael, Joseph, Justin and Jeffrey Agius of Clearlake and Severine Rose Michl of Redding. Step grandmother of Cindy Michl of Redding and Allyson Michl of Glen Ellen. Beloved sister of Florence Ficco and Raymond Butch Colaizzi of Petaluma and the late Ralph Colaizzi. Daughter of the late Raymond and Rose Colaizzi. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law, and so many loving friends. A native of Portland, Colorado. Age 71 years. Chick graduated from St. Marys Hospital School of Nursing in 1950 and was an active member of the alumni association. She worked as a registered nurse in San Francisco and Petaluma until becoming co-proprietor with her husband of Agius Grocery for 37 years. Chicks passions were her family, cooking, blackjack tournaments, the family cabin in Sierra City and golf. She loved cooking her many special dishes for her family and friends almost as much as they loved eating them. She was a member of the Mountain Shadows 9ers, Adobe Creek Womens Club and Rooster Run Womens Club. Chick was a woman of class and grace who will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her. Friends are invited to meet on Friday, September 1, 2000 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends are also invited to attend the Vigil Service, Thursday evening, August 31, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Magnolia Avenue and Keokuk St., Petaluma. Private interment, Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma. The family prefers memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952 or to the St. Vincent High School Gym Fund, P.O. Box 517, Petaluma, CA 94953.
