Melvin W. Klumb, age 68, of Ethan, S.D., died July 22, 1992, at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls. Services were held at the St. John's Lutheran Church of rural Dimock on Saturday, July 25, at 10:30 a.m. Burial was in the church cemetery with military rites. The Will Funeral Chapel of Mitchell was in charge of the arrangements.

He was born August 5, 1923, in Davison County, to Gustave and Martha (Storm) Klumb. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church-Hillside where he was a life-time member and served on various boards. He married Stella Hohn, April 12, 1948, at the Emsley Church, Ethan. He served in the US Navy during World War II and was a member of the American Legion and the D.A.V. Melvin farmed all of his working years.

He Is survived by his wife. Stella; three sons, Larry and wife, Pat, of Ethan, Gary and wife, Jacki, of Dimock, and Terry and wife Lisa, of Dimock; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Sandy) Moke of Ethan, and Mrs. Douglas (Bonnie) Reimnitz of Corsica: 19 grandchildren; three brothers, Carmen and LaVern of Mt. Vernon. and Eugene of Plymouth, Minnesota. and one sister, Nelda Marshall of Draper, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Orville.
