Dwayne Reid Mott, 72, died June 7, 2001 at his home in La Jara. Dwayne was born in Alamosa on March 28, 1929 to Joseph Elmer and Annie Prudence Coombs Mott. He married Regina Malouff on June 22, 1962, in Antonito.
Dwayne has been a successful rancher all of his life since returning from military service in the United States Navy. He served from 1950-1954 aboard the U.S.S. Floyd B. Parts, #DD844.
He will be remembered for his quick wit and humor, his great generosity and love, which he extended to all his relatives throughout the years. He was a kind and considerate host to all those who visited him.
His grandchildren were the love of his life and they are greatly going to miss their "Papa". Dwayne loved his family, his cattle, and enjoyed sporting events and hunting.
