PATRICK HENRY KOELLE, RETIRED ADMINISTRATOR, 71, Patrick Henry Koelle, 71, of Doylestown Borough, a retired administrative services manager, died Sunday at Doylestown Hospital.
Mr. Koelle was born in Cleveland and reared in Philadelphia, where he graduated in 1942 from Northeast Catholic High School. During World War II, he was a company clerk with the Army Air Corps at Kettering Air Base in England - one of five brothers to serve in the European Theater.
After the war, he earned an associate's degree in business administration from what is now Peirce Junior College in Philadelphia.
Mr. Koelle was an administrative services manager for 30 years, first at McNeil Laboratories in Fort Washington, then at McNeil Pharmaceutical in Spring House. He retired in 1989.
He resided in Doylestown for 37 years.
He was a music lover, especially of the Big Band sound, and a student of American western history.
Mr. Koelle belonged to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church and to Moose Lodge 1284, both in the borough.
He is survived by his wife of many years, Jeanne Holden Koelle; sons R. Joshua and Robert E.; daughters Anne M. Dunlap and J. Meghan Joka; two sisters; two brothers; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass for the Dead will be said at 10:30 a.m. today at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 235 E. State St., Doylestown. Burial will be private.
The family suggests contributions to the U.S. Committee for UNICEF, 333 E. 38th St., Sixth Floor, New York, N.Y. 10016.
