Henry A. Fangman

Henry A. Fangman, 83, a retired farmer, died at 9:30 pm Tuesday at his home at 404 Hamilton street, Dyersville, after a brief illness.

The funeral will be at 9:30 am Friday from the Kramer funeral home, Dyersville, to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with burial in he church cemetery.

He was born Dec. 15, 1867, at New Vienna, son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Fangman. Retiring in 1939, he moved from his nearby farm to Dyersville. He was a member of the Dyersville council, Knights of Columbus, and the Rosary society. He married Mary Benn on Feb. 12, 1896, at Dyersville.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Andrew Bergfeld of Lamont, Ia., Mrs. V.A. O'Connell of Jesup, Ia., and Mrs. William Toebber of Dyersville; four sons, William Fangman of Winthrop, Ia., Frank of Manchester, Ia., and Alfred and Charles, both of Dubuque; 36 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; a brother, Clem X. Fangman of Dyersville; and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Schafer of Petersburg, Neb. His wife died in 1940. He was also preceded by a son.
