Jennie Butler Jordan, 91, died
Wednesday, April 13,1994, at the
Green Home, Wellsboro, where she
lived.
Born Feb. 3, 1903, in Delmar
Township, she was the daughter of
Bert F. and Leanora Kimball Butler.
She was a 1921 graduate of
Wellsboro High School and the
Clifton Springs School of Nursing,
Clifton Springs, N.Y.
She was head nurse in the operating
room at Clifton Springs Hospital.
She then worked at the
Cornell University Infirmary in
Ithaca, N.Y. She eventually became
the head nurse at the Gannett
Medical Clinic at the Cornell University
and retired from there Sept.
1,1968.
She then moved back to Wellsboro
in February 1985.
She was of the Baptist faith and
was a member of the Beecher Doll
Club in Elmira, N.Y., the Laurel
Doll Club of Wellsboro and the
American Nurses Association.
Surviving are one sister, Edna
Casbeer of Wellsboro; one brother,
Ralph Butler of Beaver Dams, N.Y.;
nieces and nephews, Mary Casbeer
of Webster, N.Y., Robert and Emma
Casbeer of York and Benjamin and
Janet Casbeer of Middlebury Center;
several great-nieces and greatnephews.
A private burial will be held at
the Wellsboro Cemetery and a memorial
service at Cornell University,
which will be announced at a
later date.
Memorial donations may be
made to the Green Home, Central
Ave., Wellsboro, Pa. 1690
