Edna B. Casbeer, 98, of the Masonic
Home, Elizabethtown, formerly
of Wellsboro, passed away Thursday,
Oct. 23,2003 at the home.
Born June 6, 1905 in Delmar
Township, she was the daughter of
Bert and Leanora Kimball Butler.
She was a clerk in the business
office at Corning Hospital; 50 year
member of the Eastern Star, Wellsboro;
founder of the Laurel Doll
Club, Wellsboro; member of the
First Presbyterian Church of Wellsboro.
She was a graduate of Wellsboro
High School in 1923; and
Meeker Business College in Elmira,
N.Y. She held secretarial positions
at the Elkland Bank; Rockwells
Department Store; Corning Hospital,
Corning, N.Y.; and Ingersol-
Rand, Painted Post, N.Y.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Robert; and son,
Benjamin
She is survived by a son and
daughter-in-law, Robert B. and
Emma Casbeer of York; daughter,
Mary Jane Casbeer of
Fairport, N.Y.; daughter-in-law,
Janet Casbeer of Blythville, Ark.;
grandchildren, Susan
Holtzapple of York, Beth Magie
of York, Warren Casbeer, David
Casbeer, John Casbeer, all of
Provo, Utah; great grandchildren,
Adam and Jacob
Holtzapple, Mara Novak; and
several nieces.
Friends were invited to call at
the First Presbyterian Church,
Wellsboro on Monday, Oct. 27. An
Eastern Star service was held at
the church with funeral services
following calling hours. The Rev.
Dr. Robert K Greer officiated.
Burial was made at the Wellsboro
Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be
directed to Mary Wells Eastern
Star Chapter 452, P.O. Box 65,
Middlebury Center, Pa. 16935 or
the First Presbyterian Church,
Wellsboro, Pa. 16901.
