INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - Lillian Marie Schneider, 92, Independence, Mo., died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at her home. She was born in Lincoln, Neb., the daughter of Adam John and Margaret Alles, and had resided in Independence for 57 years. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Lincoln School of Commerce. Following her marriage to Paul M. Schneider, they moved to Drumright, Okla., and later to Indpendence in 1946. He died in 1973. In December 1979, she was married to Hans Schlichting. He has been residing in Beatrice, Neb., with his son, Lester, for the past year. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Independence, the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 148 in Lincoln, Independence Republican Women's Club, the Craft Club of Independence, Forget-Me-Not Garden Club, Rock Creek School and Central High School PTA's. She was a member and past president of Alpha Xi Delta Mothers Club of Kansas City, the Auxiliary of the Medical Center of Independence and the Women's Auxiliary of the Western Chapter Missouri Society of Professional Engineers.

Survivors: husband, Hans Schlichting of Beatrice, Neb.; daughters, Carol Sue Honey and husband Steve of Manassas, Va., Shirlee Ann Lockyer and husband Mervin of Blue Springs, Mo.; grandchildren, Laura Marie Honey and husband Loren Helgason of Burke, Va., Lisa Kay Honey and husband Michael Reno of Raleigh, N.C., Christine Marie Lockyer of Blue Springs, Mo., and Duane Paul Lockyer of Overland Park, Kan.; brother, Lloyd Alles of Lincoln, Neb.; sister, Evelyn Wolfe of Lincoln, Neb.; stepsons, Clarence Schlichting of Lincoln, Neb., Marvin Schlichting of McCook, Neb., Harlan Schlichting of Clatonia, Neb., Lester Schlichting of Beatrice, Neb.
