Paul Legler was married to Esther (Minsinger) Legler on June 19, 1916 and had two daughters, Janet Nadine and Florence "Tolley" Arlene. He worked as a candy salesman for W. C. Allen Candy Company. He died at the age of 45 from injuries sustained in a car crash on the Dallas-Salem Highway, about four miles east of Dallas.
