Black, Robert F. "Bob"
of Sun City, Arizona passed away June 26. 2011. Born in Mansfield, Ohio to Judson and Pauline Black on January 9, 1920. He graduated from Mansfield High School in 1938. He attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, majoring in accounting. He met his future wife, Conita Fay McCoslin during WWll while both were serving in the Army Air Corps. They were married in Tampa, Florida on June 25, 1944 in the Third Army Air Force Chapel, a marriage of more than 66 years. Fay died in August of 2010. Bob and Fay had two children; Ronald (Donna) Black of Fulshear, Texas and Peggy (Jack) Cline of Fountain Hills, Arizona. He is also survived by four grandchildren; Arthur (Shawn) Good, Jeannita (Jeffery) Shoop, Jason Black, and Allison (Chris) Handler; six great-grandchildren; Cody, Cadance, and Annika Shoop, Madison and Rylee Good, Kayla Handler, and a nephew and five great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his brother, Paul. Bob served in WWll as a Sergeant Major of the 329th Air Service Group stationed in the Asiatic Pacific Theater (China, Burma, India) and also six years in the U.S. Air Force Inactive Reserves. He was a life member of Temple Masonic Lodge #4, Houston, Texas a member of Sun City Masonic Lodge #72, and Past-President of High Twelve Club #567, Sun City West. He had been a Mason for 70 years. Life Member of Order of DeMolay, Life Member of International Financial Executives Institute, Charter Member of National Corporate Cash Management Association, Member of The Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, Burma Star Association. Bob's biography was entered into the 1982/1983 Who's Who in America, Who's Who in Finance and Business and Who's Who in Environmental and Energy


Management. Prior to WWll he worked as an Assistant Manager of Warner Brothers Theatres and as Payroll Clerk for Westinghouse Electric in Mansfield, Ohio. Bob retired in 1982 as Treasurer of Mitchell Energy and Development Corporation. He held positions of Controller, Secretary, and Assistant Treasurer of various Corporations in the Houston, Texas area and Project Controller of one of Del Webb projects in Clear Lake City, Texas. Bob and Fay enjoyed traveling to various parts of the world: Europe, Australia/New Zealand, Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Israel and cruises in the Pacific. They also traveled in their motor home throughout the United States and visited Alaska and Hawaii. Bob's hobby was music starting on the piano at age 7, band, orchestra and choral groups in high school, 30 years Tenor Soloist and Choir Director in his church in Houston, Texas, Grand Organist of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Arizona in 1997/1998, Organist for hymn singing and church services in several nursing homes in the Phoenix area, Organist for the Sun City Masonic Lodge #72, Charter Member of the Bell Choir at Shepherd of the Hills Methodist Church where he was a member and Interim Choir Director at New Song United Methodist Church in Surprise. His ministry in life was to give back some of the music talent that God had given him. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 30, at 1:00PM with Masonic Services at 2:00PM at Camino Del Sol Funeral Chapel, 13738 Camino del Sol, Sun City West, AZ. Interment will be at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. ARIZONA REPUBLIC 29 JUNE 2011
