Mrs. Lena Miller was born May 4, 1883 at Fenton, and was married to Fred Bierstedt Oct. 4, 1905, at Fenton. She is survived by her husband and three children, Lillian (Mrs. Art Gade), Alfred and Lauretta.
Funeral services were held at Fairville with the Rev. H. D. Stamer officiating.
Mrs. Fred Bierstedt, 50, died at her home in the Fairville neighborhood Saturday evening after an illness of several months. Although her many friends knew that she was not in the best of health it was not thought that death was so near. All that loving care and medical skill could do, was done, but to no avail and she grew steadily weaker until the end came. Funeral services were held from the Fairville Lutheran cfiurch Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 with Rev. Stahmer, officiating.
Mrs. Fred Bierstedt was born on a farm north of Fenton May 4, 1883, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. Mueller. She was confirmed in 1879 by Rev. Fuerstenau of the Lotts Creek Lutheran church. In 1905 she was married at Lotts Creek to Mr. Fred Bierstedt, following which they moved to the Fairville neighborhood. For the past years they have farmed in that vicinity.
To this union three children were born, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. Arthur Gade of Lotts Creek, and Lournetta and Alfred at home.
Through the years Mrs. Bierstedt was a staunch member of the Lutheran faith, it being said by those who knew her that she was wonderfully sincere, both in church affairs and everyday life. She was known as an exceptional mother and homemaker, sacrificing much for her family and her God. The Champion joins with the many friends of the family in expressing its sympathy to the bereaved one in their hour of sorrow.
