David Madison "Dave" Michael, 82-year-old retired farmer of the Highland section of the county, died Thursday, February 5 in the Morgan County War Memorial Hospital here where he had been a patient since Tuesday.

He was a son of the late Rheuben and Mary Michael and was a member of the Highland Evangelical United Brethren Church.

His wife, the former Miss Emma Snow Bishop, died a number of years ago.

The following children survive: Harold E. Michael, William D. Michael, and Jerry R. Michael, all of Berkeley Springs; Mrs. Carrie V. Wilson, and Mrs. Ruth E. McIntyre, both of Winchester, VA, and Mrs. Hazel M. Spruce and Mrs. Nettie M. Hovermale, both of Washington, DC. There are also 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

The body was removed from the Helsley Funeral Home to Highland E.U.B. Church for services at 2 p.m., Sunday conducted by the pastor; the Rev. Roy Hedick. Interment was in the church cemetery.
