John Joerger, 66, died yesterday at 7:15 p.m. at his home, 405 Fifth Ave., after an illness of six months. Death was attributed to cancer.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception church. The Very Rev. John J. Smith will officiate.
Mr. Joerger was born August 2, 1883 at Bellevue, Iowa, the son of John T. and Mary Michels Joerger. He was married June 25, 1907 to Loretta Van Dan Acker.
Mr. Joerger and his family came to Charles City in 1942 and he was employed at the Oliver corporation until his health failed. The family had lived in the Alta Vista, Elma and Cresco communities, where hev was engaged in farming.
Surviving are his widow and 13 children.
