James Lias McQuary, age 74, of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Woodland, died Friday, November 18, 1988 at Methodist Hospital North. Funeral services were held at 11:30 am Monday, November 21 at Memphis Funeral Home poplar Chapel. Burial was in Memory Hill Gardens. The Reverend Sidney Crawley officiated at the services assisted by the Reverend Haney and Debbie Crawley.

The son of the late Roe and Rosa McQuary, he was a retired employee of Dover Elevator Corp. after 30 years. He was born in Chickasaw County and was a member of Blue Ridge Park Baptist Church of Memphis. He was a Veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bonnie Parish McQuary; two daughters, Mrs. Debbie Norton and Mrs. Judy Eaves, both of Memphis; five sisters, Mrs. Ethel Lancaster of Woodland, Mrs. Beatrice Nichols and Mrs. Christine Harmon, both of Houston, Mrs. Mildred Hines of McComb and Mrs. Roumalette Thrasher of Starkville; two brothers, Bill McQuary of Memphis and Bob McQuary of Cleveland, Tennessee and two grandsons.

Pallbearers were Conway Nichols, Kenneth Nichols, Larry Nichols, Herman Sawyner, Curtis Eaves and Charles Easterwood.

Memphis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
