Funeral services for Fred Greinert, 78, of Fenton will be held today, June 13, 2001, at 10 30 a.m. at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Fairville, IA with Rev. David Bergquist officiating. Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery at Fairville. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home of Fenton in charge of arrangements.
He died Monday, June 11,2001, at North Iowa Mercy Health Center in Mason City.
Fred Walter Greinert, the son of Edward and Mathilda (Wegner) Greinert was born September 4, 1922 in Fairville, IA. He received his education in the Fenton schools graduating from Fenton High School in 1940. On September 1, 1950, he was united in marriage to Evelyn M. Alt at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Fairville. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Fenton area, Fred also milked cows for many years. In 1984, he retired from farming. Evelyn died January 3, 1991.
Survivors include: daughter, Christy Bleckwenn and husband, Dan of Ringsted; son. Randy Greinert and wife, Linda of Fenton and four grandchildren.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, wife and three brothers.
He was a member of St. Luke' Lutheran Church in Fairville.
