Artist. Born Valentina Jegorenko in Kharkov, Ukraine, Val was privately schooled in art until she was 15. When the Germans invaded the Soviet Union she was taken to a concentration camp. At the end of the war her parents had died and she had no reason to return to the Soviet Union. She ended up in Stuttgart, Germany where she became a fashion model. It was there that she met her future husband, Ambrose Roy Wargo, an American serviceman. They married in 1956. His military assignments took them to the Denver, Colorado area and they lived in Aurora, Colorado. Her work in art restoration brought her clients from libraries, museums, and the University of Colorado. She expanded her own artwork and became a well-known artist, selling her art in major galleries in Colorado and throughout the country
