Funeral services for Fred D. Langrock, 71, who died at Mitchell County Memorial hospital July 18, were held on Thursday, July 20 at St. Peter Lutheran church in Toeterville with the Rev. William Kamke and the Rev. Carl Langrock of Des Moines, nephew of the deceased, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Frederick Daniel Langrock, son of Friedrich and Wilhemina (Krahn) Langrock, was born January 7, 1901 in Cottonwood county near Windom, Minn. He was baptized at rural Kelafield Evangelical Lutheran church near Heron Lake, Minn. January 18 by the Rev. Wohlflel.

At the age of two after the death of his father, he moved to Toeterville with his mother and two older brothers.

He was confirmed March 28, 1915 at St. Peter Lutheran church in Toeterville by the Rev. Ernst Lehman. He attended the rural school in Union township and Wartburg Norman Academy at Waverly. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, having played on the Wartburg baseball team and several teams in this area.

On October 20, 1926 he was married to Evelyn Myrtella Sampson at Six Mile Grove Lutheran church, Lyle. Four children were born to them.

Mr. Langrock was active in various activities. He helped organize the formation of the Toeterville Co-op elevator of which he was a board member 21 years; served on the board of North Iowa grain dealers corp., Mason City 21 years; Cedar Valley Electric REC board for six years; and numerous activities of the Mitchell County Farm Bureau. He also served on the board of Faith Lutheran home in Osage until the past year; and was on the building committee of the new church in Toeterville in 1967.

He has been a life long member of St. Peter Lutheran church, sang in the choir and was a charter member of the Brotherhood and many other church activities.

Survivors are his wife, E. Myrtella Langrock; two daughters, Mrs. Leo (Avis) Hanson, Toeterville; Mrs. Donovan (Audrey) Carroll of Austin; two sons, Frederick of Forest City and David of Rock Island, Ill.; five grandchildren; two brothers, Walter of Osage and Lee of Cedar Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Out of town persons attending the services were from: San Bernadino, Calif.; Rock Island, Ill.; Rochester, Emmons, Golden Valley. Mankato, Chatfield, Albert Lea, Rose Creek, Austin, and Adams, Minn.; Des Moines, Cedar Falls, Nemaha, Storm Lake, Melvin, Mason City, Osage, Sumner, Forest City, Elkader, Davenport, Buffalo Center, Riceville, Northwood, Grafton, Carpenter, Stacyville, Mitchell, Otranto and Mona.
