Dorothy M. (Sittler) Enck of Sarasota, FL passed away March 1, 2002.

She was born April 8, 1922 in Naperville, IL to George and Ida Sittler.

United in marriage to Arthur Enck on May 15, 1943, they continued to live in Naperville until their retirement in 1971. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Naperville Community High School with her sister, Florence, and her niece, Betty Jean. She was a past president of WOTM (Women of the Moose) in Naperville and helped begin Friday Night Fish Fry's. She enjoyed quilting and managed to make every one of her eight grandchildren one.

Dorothy is survived by her husband, Art, of Sarasota, FL; two sons, James (Mary) Enck of St. Charles and Richard (Janet) Enck of Sugar Grove; a daughter, Louann (Tom) Lucas of Sarasota, FL; eight grandchildren, Joshua and Christopher Enck of St. Charles, Tracey (John Akin) Enck of Sandwich, Jennifer (Adam) Meyer of Maple Park, IL, Charles and Michael Encke of Sugar Grove, Amanda and Tyler Lucas of Sarasota, FL; one great-grandchild, Brad Akin; two nieces, Betty Jean (Rudy) Struchil and Kay Ann Heim; and four nephews, Bob Pattermann, Ron, Bill and Ken Augsburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Henrietta and Florence.

There is no funeral service.

Interment will be private and her ashes will be buried in the memorial garden at Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota.

In her memory, her family asks that you hug your mother or someone close to you.

Donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida or the American Lung Association.
