Lawrence Edward "Skip" Wiedmeyer

Lawrence Edward "Skip" Wiedmeyer, of West Bend, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at Samaritan Healthcare Center, after 72 years of life.

Lawrence was born on December 10, 1933 in West Bend to Anton Lawrence and Lillian Mary (nee Wienke) Wiedmeyer. On April 18, 1953, he married Carol Nierode in West Bend. After marriage they began a loving family of their own. For many years, he ran West Bend Taxi, and also owned and operated "Skip'n Carol's" bar. Lawrence later drove truck and school bus before his retirement. In his early years, he drove race cars at both Plymouth and Slinger Super Speedway. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and one of his favorite pastimes, playing Sheephead. He will be missed by everyone!

Lawrence is survived by his mother, Lillian M. (nee Wienke) Wiedmeyer; his children, Keith Wiedmeyer of West Bend, Steven (Cindy) Wiedmeyer of West Bend, Tony Wiedmeyer of West Bend, and Cory (Cathy) Wiedmeyer of Kewaskum; his grandchildren, Tanya Biertzer of West Bend, Jenny (Steven) Logan of Appleton, Keith Wiedmeyer Jr. of West Bend, Amanda Wiedmeyer of West Bend, Samantha Wiedmeyer of West Bend, Alicia Bowe of West Bend, Nicole (Christopher) Zehetner of West Bend, Mike Wiedmeyer (Fiancee Amy Ciriacks) of West Bend, Matthew Wiedmeyer of Kewaskum, and Nathan Wiedmeyer of Kewaskum; and six great-grandchildren, Carolyn, Josiah, and Jasmin Logan of Appleton, Aislynn and Corbin Wiedmeyer of West Bend, and Courtney Zehetner of West Bend. He is further survived by his sisters, Lucille (Melvin) Carderelle of Sheboygan, and Deloris (Roger) Stoffel of West Bend; his brother-in-law, Roger Luecke of Tomahawk; three sisters-in-law, Sharon Elleson of Cedarburg, Marlo Rhodes of Milwaukee, and Michelle Nierode of Milwaukee; nieces, nephews, other very special relatives, and many dear friends. Lawrence was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol (nee Nierode) Wiedmeyer, on February 13, 1995, his father, Anton Wiedmeyer; and his sister, Joyce Luecke.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Lawrence's life will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at the Phillip Funeral Home Chapel (1420 W. Paradise Drive, West Bend, WI 53095). Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2006 at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. Cremation will take place at Paradise Cremation Services of West Bend followed by interment at ashes at Washington County Memorial Park of West Bend.
