Walter H. Frerichs, 91, of 451 Amy Drive, Peoria, formerly of Bartonville and Lutheran Hillside Village of Peoria, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2002, at St. Mary's Hospital of Ozaukee County in Mequon, Wis.

Born July 16, 1911, in Bartonville to Herman H. and Flora Winters Frerichs, he married Viola Harms on Sept. 26, 1937, in Benson. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Judith) Moburg of Grafton, Wis., and Lois Sturgis of Peoria.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and one granddaughter.

He worked in the production and auditing departments at Keystone Steel & Wire Co. for 47 years, retiring in 1975.

He was a member of the Masons; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Peoria; and Mohammed Temple, Shrine, in Peoria. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge.

He was a volunteer for the TB Association and was a former volunteer for Oak Grove Fire District.

Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery in Peoria.
