ESTHERVILLE?- Funeral services for Iva Kleen, 99, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 6 at Grandview Baptist Church with Pastor Kris Neider officiating. Interment will be at East Side Cemetery, Estherville. Iva passed peacefully away with many family members at her side on July 2, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, July 5 at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville.
Iva Myrtle (Michael) Kleen, daughter of Harry and Christiana (Zitterich) Michael, was born on May 24, 1912, in Raleigh, Iowa.
Iva lived in the Dolliver/Estherville area all of her life. She attended the Estherville Schools. She was united in marriage to Edgar (Tubby) Kleen on Oct. 12, 1940, in Spencer.
Iva loved spending time with her family, working in her garden, tending to her rose bush, working crossword puzzles, playing bingo and cards and writing letters.
She worked as a waitress and was an interior decorator for 33 years.
Iva was a member of the VFW Auxiliary since 1942 and also a member of the Military Order Cooties Auxiliary.
Left to cherish Iva's memory are her daughter, Loretta Haukoos and husband, Wayne; grandchildren, Debra Cox and husband, Delbert; Denise Johnson and husband, Terry; Doreen Spoo and husband, Kenneth Jr.; Darla Pytleski and husband, Michael; David Haukoos and DeEtta Koen and husband, Tim; nine great-grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and many, many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister; brother; infant daughter; and great-grandson, Kyle VanCleave.
