Marjorie "Margie" Luedtke Krahn, age 80, of W8444 County Road S, Beechwood, passed away Monday, July 5, 2004, at the Beechwood Rest Home.
Born on Oct. 23, 1923 in Batavia, Margie was a daughter of the late Chester and Cordula Hintz Schulz.
She attended LaFollette Grade School in the Town of Sherman and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1941. She also attended Sheboygan Business College.
Margie was employed at Western Condensing Company in Adell, Allis Chalmers in Milwaukee and the West Bend Company in West Bend.
On June 3, 1944 she married Arno F. Luedtke at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Batavia. The couple farmed in the Town of Mitchell until his death on April 23, 1960.
On May 26, 1962 she married Gaylord "PeeWee" Krahn at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade. The couple has resided in Beechwood for the past 42 years.
She worked for the Kewaskum School District in Food Service for 25 years, working at the Beechwood School for 18 years and then at Farmington School until retirement in 1992.
She was active in the KAP at the schools and a charter member of the Beechwood Fireman's Auxiliary where she held offices for many years.
She loved to walk, dance (while able), bake and do ceramics. In her younger years she played the organ for Sunday School at St. Stephen's in Batavia. She taught Sunday School at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cascade and was active in the American Cancer Drive, chairperson of the Town of Scott Heart Fund and at one time worked for the SHARE program. She enjoyed taking care and the love of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 9, at 7 p.m. at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth with Rev. Mark Eckert, pastor of St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Cascade at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 10.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 3 p.m. Friday until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name for the St. John Lutheran Church Kitchen Fund in New Fane and Cerebral Palsy Horse Therapy.
