Andrew Augustus "Andy" Rehder, age 73, passed away after waging a valiant struggle against acute leukemia. He was preceded in death by his brother and best friend, Carroll Rehder, and by his grandson, Michael Rehder. He is survived by his wife, Mary DuPont Rehder; three children, Lynn Sanderson, Richard Rehder and Lisa Dascaloff; sister, Mary Jane Bowers; five grandchildren, Jennifer Sanderson, Christopher Sanderson, Toni Lampman, Joseph Rehder and Nicole Dascaloff and by one great-grandchild, Madison Husvar. Andy lived at various locations in upstate New York until moving to Florida in 1989. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy from October 1952 until June 1955. He worked 30 years for United Parcel Service retiring in 1987, as supervisor in the security section. He was an active member of the American Legion, the VFW, the Elks, the Moose and the Eagles. Andy would want his friends to celebrate his life by remembering his magnetic personality and raising a glass occasionally to his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Society or Good Shepherd Hospice. Internment will be at Memorial Gardens.
