The service will be 10 a.m. Wedesday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home Inc., 902 Mount Rose Ave., York. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Springettsbury Township. Viewing will be 9 to 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hengst was born in York Township on Nov. 24, 1903. He was the son of the late Alpheus and Nora (Ness) Hengst.
He was employed 31 years by New York Wire Cloth Co., prior to his retirement. He was a member of Victory Fire Company and had attended Bethany United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hengst is survived by a brother, Leo Hengst of York; two sisters, Gertrude Deardorff of Dallastown, and Alverta Shue of York; and nieces and nephews.
