Kohlmann, 86, of Kiel, died Saturday morning, Dec. 6, 1997, at Friendship Manor, Kiel, where she had been a resident for the past five years. She is the former Eleanor Schmitz born Jan. 7, 1911, in Marytown, daughter of the late Peter and Ida Schmitz. She attended school in Marytown. On Nov. 14, 1934, she married Raymond J. Kohlmann at St. Mary’s Church in Marytown. The couple farmed in the St. Cloud area before moving to Kiel in 1969. Eleanor was also employed at Lake to Lake in Kiel for approximately 17 years until her retirement. Raymond died Jan. 21, 1994. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, and Christian Mothers. Survivors include three sons: Ronald (Annette) Kohlmann of Plymouth, Erne (Bernice) Kohlmann of Kiel, and Vernon Kohlmann of Palisades Park, J.J.; seven grandchildren: Debra Laack, Kevin Kohlmann, Jeff Kohlmann, Kathy Aurand, Tom Kohlmann, Laurie Kohlmann and Michael Kohlmann; four great-grandchildren: Latreace Laack, Logan Laack, Taylor Kohlmann and Bryce Kohlmann; and one brother-in-law, Martin Birschbach of Fond du Lac. She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Kiel, with the Rev. Loren Nys, S.D.S. officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. A memorial has been established for Ss. Peter and Paul Church. Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel, is the service coordinators.
