Mrs. Fred Bingner (Helen Bingner) died at 4 o'clock Sunday morning, July 30, 1916 at the hospital where she has been for the last two and one-half weeks. Mrs. Bingner had been an invalid for the last month but until the heat of these last few days she had been doing as nicely as could be expected. The heat, however, weakened her, and to it more than anything else is attributed the cause of her death.

Mrs. Bingner has lived her entire life in this county. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beckmeier, were pioneers in Rock Run Township and it was there that on June 12, 1874 Mrs. Bingner was born. Her girlhood days were spent on the farm of her parents, but on August 18, 1892 she was united in marriage to Fred Bingner and went with him to make her home on the Bingner farm in the same township. (Alice Horner's note: Fred Bingner's obituary gives their wedding date as August 17, 1893, but the Illinois Statewide Marriage Index, 1763-1900 gives it as August 18, 1892 also.) They lived there for the next ten years, then moved to Freeport making their home at 39 Louise Avenue. (Alice Horner's note: This street may have been one of those which was renamed; there was no Louise Avenue on the map in the June 1956 Freeport telephone book. It's possible Louise is a typo, and they meant to write Louis Avenue.)

Mrs. Bingner was a member of St. John's Evangelical church, and was a woman loved and respected by all who knew her. In many ways she was old fashioned. In nothing did she take more interest than in her home and to her family she gave her entire love and devotion. For them she was always ready to go to any trouble, making any sacrifice, do anything she thought was for their good and happiness.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Bingner leaves the following five children: William of Rock City, and Martin, Alta, Frederick, and Violet of Freeport. She is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Bingner of Davis, Mrs. Ida Brandt of Beloit, Wisconsin, Mrs. Annie Weimer of Rock City, Mrs. Lizzie Tielke of Freeport, and a brother, H. J. Beckmeier of Rock City. Mrs. Bingner has been the second one of her family to pass away within the last three weeks, her mother, Mrs. Henry Beckmeier died on the fifteenth of this month.

The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock from the funeral parlors of N. H. Moore. Rev. Daniel Bierbaum will officiate and interment will be made in the city cemetery.
