George R. Stiller, 81, of Richmond, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2007, at Beverly Oak Ridge after a short illness. He was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Salem, Ohio, to John M. and Margaret Diddon Stiller and moved to Richmond from Connersville 54 years ago. George was a Navy veteran of World War II. He formerly worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and as a machine repairman for Natco. He retired from Ford Aerospace as a machine repairman. He was a third and fourth member of the Knights of Columbus Council 580. He was also a member of the Harry Ray American Legion Post 65. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Norma; five children, Dick and wife Pat Stiller of Norfolk, Va., Greg Stiller of Florida, Marcia Stiens and companion Jean Drexler of Richmond, Patty and husband Jim Gilbert of Sardinia, Ohio, and Joe Stiller and companion Donna Clover of Centerville; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers and sisters, Catherine Smith of Clarkston, Mich., Peg Kennedy of Tucson, Ariz., Fr. Ludd Stiller of Katmandu, Nepal, Dr. Mary Stiller Ph.D. of Lafayette, and Tommy Stiller of New Jersey; nieces and nephews. One son, Louis Stiller; one daughter, Beth Ann Stiller; his parents; and three brothers, Johnny, Vince, and Lawrence Stiller, are deceased. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Holy Family Church with Rev. Eric Augenstein officiating. Burial will be in the Veterans Field of Honor at Earlham Cemetery with military rites by the Wayne County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be given to Knights of Columbus Council 580, P.O. Box 1174, Richmond, IN 47375.
