MASON CITY - Carl J. Lang, 94, of Mason City, died Saturday (April 26, 2003) at his home. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., with the Rev. Dennis Cahill officiating. Interment Lang will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with a 7 p.m. rosary service. There will be further visitation one hour prior to services on Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church. Memorials may go to the Carl J. Lang Memorial Fund.
Carl was born Sept. 1, 1908 the son of John and Lena (Lex) Lang. On June 6, 1939, he was united in marriage to Laura K. Hemann in Albert Lea, Minn. Carl enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting and card playing. Carl also enjoyed gardening and canning. Carl is survived and lovingly remembered by his sons, Eugene Lang and wife, Bette, of Winnsboro, Texas, Dean Lang of Mason City and Duane Lang and wife, Helen, of Marshall town. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
