Private funeral services will be held for Louis Cherveny, 80, retired Grand Junction businessman who died here Wednesday night following a three-year illness. Interment for the deceased, an honorary member of the local painters union, will be in the Orchard Mesa cemetery with pallbearers being Otis Ellis, Jack Binkley, Alfred Nestler, B. F. Sadler, Alvin Hawks and Roy Abernathy, all members of the local painters union. Rev. John D. Leach will officiate. Martin's mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Wenzel Cherveny, Nov. 14, 1870, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Louis Cherveny spent his childhood in that area and in 1900 moved to Grand Junction where he made his home and later operated the Cherveny Paint store at 327 Main street. Mr. Cherveny was a contractor and painter by occupation. The deceased was married to Josephine Krezek, who preceded him in death. Mr. Cherveny is survived by a son, Joseph L.., of Grand Junction, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
