Irene Jansen

Resident of Sunnyvale

Came into this world on October 24, 1924 and passed into the next on August 4, 2010. Irene was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Warren, who was a Pearl Harbor survivor.

Irene was born in Barnsville, Minnesota and hitchhiked to California when she was just 17. She later moved to Sunnyvale where she resided for the rest of her life.

Irene loved to spend time with her family and friends. She liked to read, play golf, dance, and play cards. She belonged to the America Legion and volunteered for the Veterans Administration in Sunnyvale.
Irene is survived by several children, (names redacted for privacy) 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Irene's memory to the Alzheimer's Research Center, 640 Jackson St., St Paul, Minnesota 55101-2595. A memorial service is planned for family and friends at 1:30 p.m., on Friday, August 27, 2010 at Community Church of Santa Clara, 3536 Monroe St., Santa Clara.
