A funeral for Eric Henry Garms of Gresham will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Bateman Carroll Funeral Chapel, Gresham. Private interment will be in Skyline Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Garms died of causes related to age Tuesday in a Portland care center. He was 91.
He was born Oct. 20, 1899, in Columbus, Neb. He farmed in Nebraska before moving to the Portland area in 1945. He married Dorothy Pratt on Sept. 25, 1949, in Vancouver, Wash. A machine operator, Mr. Garms worked for Collins Pipe Co. for 19 years until his retirement in 1964. His wife died in 1988.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Shirley Hill of Boring; stepsons, Allan Pratt of Portland, Dustin Pratt of Fairfax, Va., and Loren Pratt of Concord, Calif.; brother, Werner of Scribner, Neb.; sisters, Herta Stephenson of Vancouver, Wash., and Elvira Horst and Luella Rink of Scribner; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Salvation Army or to Redeemer Lutheran Church.
