On Sunday afternoon at the home of her son-in-law Mr. Henry Pingel, where she has been cared for the past few years, Mrs. Margarethe Schmitt died at the age of 85 years from a heart attack. The deceased had lived for many years in Town Rhine and was born in Germany. Two sons, Peter and Philipp in Town Rhine and four daughters, Mrs. H. Pingel in Kiel, Mrs. J. Lukesh, Mrs. Ph. Zimmermann in Town Schleswig and Mrs. Martin Dedow in Howards Grove survive her. The burial took place on Wednesday afternoon at the Schmitt Cemetery in Town Rhine.
