Phillip Ostwald Dies in Hospital

Phillip Ostwald, 95, a resident of the county for the past 48 years, died at the Fort Morgan hospital Tuesday at 11:55 a.m.

Ostwald was born in Kautz, Russia, Sept. 27, 1870. He came to American in 1907, lived one year in Michigan, then in Denver and Loveland for a period of 10 years before moving to Morgan County in 1918.

He is survived by four children: Mrs. Rose Mohr of Denver, Mrs. Esther Gustafson of Wheat Ridge, Alex and Edward of Fort Morgan; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wiegel of Denver, and one brother, George of Fort Morgan. There are 24 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. from the Christ Congregational Church with Rev. Fred Schneider officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Cutler-Jolliffe Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements. Friends who wish may contribute to the building fund of the church.
