Andrena Gagnon, 100 years old of Sanford, died Thursday, April 17, 2003 at Goodall Hospital in Sanford.

She was born in St. Fortunat, P.Q Canada, November 11, 1902, the daughter of Edouard and Rose Anna Croteau Garneau. She lived in Limerick for two years and worked in the Limerick Yarn Mills. She then lived in Salmon Falls, NH now Rollinsford.

She came to Sanford in 1936. Mrs. Gagnon worked in the Goodall Sanford Mills, and worked for 23 years for Jagger Bros. Mills in South Sanford, and also in Springvale. She was a member of St. Ignatius Church, The Daughters of Isabella, and The ladies of St. Ann. She enjoyed playing Bingo, and in later years enjoyed going to the Trafton Center. She was the widow of the late Joseph T. Gagnon, who died in 1974.

She is survived by a daughter, Helene Taylor, of San Diego, CA, two sons, Richard J. Gagnon, of South Waterboro, Maine, and John R. Gagnon, of Lyman Maine, 4 sisters, Eva Berry, of Limerick, ME, Lucienne Ouellette, of Berwick, ME, Rachel Lemelin, of Somersworth, NH, and Laura Bisson, of Kittery, ME, 8 Grandchildren, Mrs. William (Brenda) Ridley, of Rome, ME, Steve Gagnon, of Saco, ME, Brian Gagnon, of South Waterboro, ME, Major Craig Gagnon, U.S.A.F. of Washington, Richard Mathurin, of Portland, ME, Mrs. John (Monica) Goulet, of Groton, CT, Sister Mary Magdalene, of Tiverton, RI and Aime Gagnon, of Portland, ME. Also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren, Bethany and Benjamin Ridley of Rome, ME, Brett Gagnon of Saco, ME, Katie Gagnon of Portland, ME, Tyler and Tiffany Gagnon of Waterboro, ME, and Brittany and Kaitlin Goulet of Groton, CT.

Calling hours will be held on Monday April 21st from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Heald Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME. On Tuesday the 22nd please meet the family at St. Ignatius R.C. Church of Sanford for an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial. Committal services will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford.
