As of the probate of his will on December 31, 1889 the following children were still alive:
Elizabeth Huelskamp--Maria Stein
Catherine Mescher-- Maria Stein
A. Tangeman-- Maria Stein
Joseph Tangeman-- Maria Stein
Ferd Tangeman-- Maria Stein
Bernard Tangeman-- Coldwater
Henry Tangeman-- Maria Stein
and
Mary Miller of Cincinnati-- to whom he left 800 dollars and a complete bed when, to everyone else, he left ten dollars. Not sure if she was widowed or perhaps, like many German farmers in his area, Gerhard had bought a farm for the rest of his children and had not had the opportunity to do so for his youngest daughter? It is puzzling. It looks like she was born about 1850 and died around 1935.

There is a decent gap in the birth years between John "Ferd" Friedrich and Bernard. It wouldn't surprise me if there is another sibling who died before Gerhard.
