She was born August 23, 1927 in Casey, IL the daughter of the late William T. and Phyllis nee Pugh Hays.
She was employed by Timmy Toys in Montgomery, IL, Pride Gas Station on Route #31 in Oswego, IL and for the most recent last 20 years at Marcley's Mini Mart in Oswego, IL.
She is survived by two daughters, Helen (Ron) Pfister of Aurora, IL, Patricia Ode of Aurora, IL; a son, Dennis (Cynthia) Koons of Plainfield, IL; 11 grandchildren, Annette (Jim) Graf of Plainfield, IL, Wendy (Aurelio) Aviles of Aurora, IL, Rhonda (Duane) Brown of Lisbon, IL, Joshua (Renee) Koons of Carol Stream, IL, Ryan Koons of Plainfield, IL, Amanda (Joshua) Fannin of Plainfield, IL, Steve (Marsha Bedwell, fiancee) Ode, Andrea Ode, Erin Ode, Meghan Ode, Christopher Ode all of Aurora, IL; seven great-grandchildren, Derek, Adam, Hillary Graf, Alex, Hope Aviles, Miranda Brown, Elizabeth Fannin; a sister, Iris Middleton of Montgomery, IL; several nieces, nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Koons (they had been married fro 46 years); a sister, Faith Hix; two brothers, William and Freddie Hays.
Visitation will take place Friday, May 23, 2003 from 2-8 p.m. at the McKEOWN-DUNN FUNERAL HOME, LTD at 210 S. Madison St., in Oswego, IL.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. David Eichelberger officiating.
Cremation was accorded the wishes of the family followed by burial at Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery, IL.
Memorials may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice.
