George A. Kraick, 72, of Hopkinsville, Ky., and formerly of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at home.

The Fort Wayne native was retired from Phelps-Dodge Magnet Co. after 27 years of service. He was a member of Kiwanis Club, First United Methodist Church and a Korean War Army veteran.

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn J.; a son, Bruce L. of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Dawnelle Francis of Hopkinsville; a brother, Robert of Fort Wayne; sisters Katherine Shirey, Deloris Faulkner and Doris Vachon, all of Fort Wayne, Elizabeth Nott of New Haven, and Edna Anderson and Betty Hurt, both of Big Long Lake, Ind.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, Hopkinsville. Burial will be 2 p.m. Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
