Loretta Cullen Ritz
Janesville native Loretta Cullen Ritz, 95, a resident of Mankato for about 20 years, died Tuesday, June 4, 1991, at the Oaklawn Health Care Center, Mankato.
Services were 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Janesville, the Rev. Syl Brown and the Rev. Kenneth Clinton officiating. Burial was in St. Ann's Cemetery, Janesville.
Visitation was 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Arnoldt Funeral Home, Janesville, and at the church one hour before services.
Pallbearers were Ronald Schuch, Delbert Ziemke, Ray Cahill, Lawrence Pearson, William Sexton and Everett Stanke.
Mrs. Ritz was born May 28, 1896, at the old Janesville townsite northwest of Janesville, to Anton and Anna (Kaberla) Schramski. She attended rural Janesville schools, and married William Cullen on May 20, 1913, at St. Ann's Catholic Church. They farmed in the Janesville area until Mr. Cullen's dearth, July 4, 1956. She married Clarence Ritz Jan. 4, 1969, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, North Mankato. They made their home in the Mankato hilltop area. She was a member of the Royal Neighbors at St. Ann's Catholic Church, the Senior Citizens, and other groups.
Mrs. Ritz is survived by a son Eugene Cullen, and wife, Helen, of Myrtle Point, Ore., a daughter, Gertrude Storjohann of Janesville; stepsons Donald Ritz and wife, Dorothy, and Maurice Ritz and wife, Carol, of St. Peter, and John Ritz and wife, Seonaid, of Oneida, Wis; stepdaughters Phyllis Osborne and husband, Francis, of St. Paul, Deloris Michels of St. Peter, and Carol Sterner and husband, Martin, of Apple Valley; four grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; two nieces, and several cousins. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Clara Truman, and a grandson.
