Denker rites set Friday

Funeral services for Wilbert H. Denker, who died on Tuesday in a Victoria hospital, will be held on Friday, Jan. 22 at First Evangelical Lutheran church. The Rev. StephenClsrk will officiate, with interment in the Hermann Sons Cemetery. A prayer srvice was held at Seydler-Hill Chapel at 7 p.m. On Thursday.
Pall bearers are Douglas Boysen, James Fehner, Odis Fehner, Allen Wehlmann, Freddie Marek and Emil Kocian. Honorary pall bearers are Herbert aborning, Bob Campion, Pokey Kennedy, John Friedrich, Lee Meyer and Bill Smith.
Mr. Denver was born on Jan. 3, 1920 at Cheapside, to Fritz and Clara Wiechring Denker, both natives of Cheapside. He was married to Elva Ella Boldt on Feb. 3, 1940 and before retirement he worked as an auto mechanic .
He was a member of the First Lutheran church, the American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans, the Volunteer Fire Dept. Dons of Hermann Lodge and the Lutheran Brotherhood. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Donnie Kurtzof Victoria, Shirley Ann and Bobby H. Miller; one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald W. and Linda Denker of Victoria; a brother, S. E. "Red" Denker of Prague, Ok., and a step-brother, Steve Klein of San Antonio and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Clarence Klein and two Ste-brothers, Frank and Fred Klein.
