Ernst Friedrich Bloemker was born in Lienen, Wesphalia, Germany on May 29, 1855 the son of Ernst Eberhard and Catharina Sophia Elizabeth (Welp) Bloemker. He immigrated to the United States with his parents and three siblings in 1874.

On January 19, 1882 he was married to Maria Sophie Moeller at Salem Church in Alhambra. They were the parents of 14 children: Wilhelm Ernst Friedrich, Carolina Wilhelmine Catharina, Ernest Rudolph, Marie Sophie, Wilhelimina, Oscar William, Katherine, Hugo, Lydia, Theodore, Clarence Herman, Alfred, Edward E. and a child who died in infancy.

Mr. Bloemker was a farmer and lived in the Kaufman and Alhambra area since his immigration to Illinois. He was a faithful member of Salem Church in Alhambra and participated in the building of the church in 1877. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. Kofer and burial was in Salem Cemetery.
