Joseph Slifka
Livingston, April 29 - Joseph Slifka, 21 of Livingston died at five o'clock this morning at the St Francis Hospital in Litchfield from injuries received in an automobile accident at 6:30 Monday morning. The accident happened one mile north of Hamel when Slifka was riding with his brother, Harry, of Livingston, and their automobile collided with the car occupied by Anthony Seissler and his wife, Ann, of Grays Lake, Ill. There was a heavy fog Monday morning and that was the cause of the accident. The Slifka brothers were on their way to Granite City, where they worked in one of the steel mills. The four people were taken to the Litchfield Hospital where it was reported that Seissler suffered a broken knee and several fractured ribs.
Mr Slifka is survived by his wife, his mother, and several sisters and brothers. One brother was killed in a mine accident several years ago.
The body was taken to the Latowsky Funeral Home.

Livingston, May 1 - Funeral services for Jpseph Slifka will be held at the home of his mother on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Rev R B Hosto of New Douglas will officiate. Burial will be in Spangle Cemetery.
Mr Slifka died Wednesday morning from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Monday morning.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs Annamae Slifka, his mother, Mrs Mary Slifka, one sister, Mrs Pauline Fritchell of St Louis and four brothers, Andrew of St Louis, John of Chicago and Harry and William, both of Livingston.
