Died of blood poisoning. She married Nicholas Carl in 1873 in Germany. The family came to Kansas in 1882 and settled on a farm in Carr Creek township. They had nine daughters, one of whom, Mrs. Pete Pauly, preceded her in death. Other survivors include:
