MICHIGAN CITY - Mrs. Jean C. Hayman, 85, of Michigan City, died Friday, March 22, 2002, at 7 p.m. at St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers.

She was born Feb. 14, 1917, in Ludlow, Mass., to Michael and Mary (Kurtyka) Kozik.

Mrs. Hayman was a laborer and had worked at Burnham Glove Factory and Elco Electronics. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and the Rosary Society at the church.

On Sept. 9, 1939, in Michigan City, she married Leo T. Hayman, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Louann Rice and Rita Swistek, both of Michigan City; two sons, Eugene of Michigan City and David of Ogden Dunes; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Josephine Pawlik and Lottie Glanders, both of LaPorte, and Genevieve Dill of Santa Fe, N.M.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Benjamin Kozik.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Friends may call at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel today from 4 to 8 p.m., where the St. Stanislaus Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 4 p.m. and the Parish Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.; and Tuesday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
