Ralpael (Ray) Wichman, 66, Mt. Pleasant, was dead on arrival at Burlington Memorial hospital at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 17.
Born Feb. 18, 1909 in Seneca, Kan., he was the son of Clement and Elizabeth Schaefer Wichman. A six-year resident of Mt. Pleasant, he was a retired farmer and member of St. Alphonsus Catholic church, Mt. Pleasant, and the Midwest Old Settlers and Old Threshers Assn. Aug. 10, 1965 he married Beulah Moore in Cresco.
Surviving: The wife; four sons, Richard, Minneapolis, Minn., Ronald, Dubuque, Eugene, Marion, Donald, Manchester; a daughter, Mrs. Loretta Edmonds, Marion; two brothers, Leo, Rockford, Ill., William, Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Celia Ratchmund, Marshalltown, Helen Wichman, Rockford, Ill.; seven grandchildren; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Donna Wise, Burlington, Mrs. Mary Calhoun, Danville, a stepson, Glen Toney, Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Alphonsus church; Rev. Paul Alberts; St. Alponsus cemetery. Rosary recited 8 p.m. Tuesday at Beaty-Jennings funeral home, Mt. Pleasant.
