Frank W. Scheffler, retired Trojan Powder works watchman, died last night at his home near Rextown, R. 2, Slatington. He was 80 years old and had been ill for several days. Born in Rextown, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Peters) Scheffler, he had worked at the Trojan plant until two years ago. He was a member of Emerald castle of the A.O.K. of M.C., and Slatington's Fraternal Patriotic Americans. He was a member of the Reformed congregation of Friedens church. He is survived by the following children: Mrs. Calvin Stahler, of Walnutport; Francis, of R. 2, Slatington; Harry, of Slatington; Mrs. Ernest Strohl, of Northampton; Mrs. Roy Dorshimer, Mrs. Samuel Smith and Lester, of Slatington; Mrs. Lawrence Wertman, at home; 27 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and a step-sister, Mrs. Emma Olewine, of R. 1, Slatington. Rev. Robert Urffer will officiate at services at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Elwood Heintzelman funeral home, Slatedale, and at the continued services in Friedens church. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
