Goldie Mae Kammerer
CHENEY — Goldie Mae Kammerer, 70, Cheney, died Monday, June 11, 1990, at the Cheney Golden Age Home. Mrs. Kammerer was born Goldie Mae Wassemiller on May 31, 1920, at Elk Grove, Calif., and had been a resident of Cheney since 1987, moving from Oakley. She was a homemaker.
Her husband, Samuel, died in 1963.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Koster Funeral Home, Oakley. Burial will be in the Monument Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Samuel Kammerer and Goldie Wassemiller were married December 26, 1951 at her parents' home on a farm near Monument, Kansas. After their marriage they moved to California and settled in their home on Perkins Way in Sacramento. After a few years they bought a new home on Roeder Way. Samuel Kammerer, died March 21, 1963 and is buried next to his first wife, Helen Katherine Litz, in Sacramento, California. Samuel had a brain tumor removed and seemed to be getting along fine. Six months later the malignancy started up again causing his death.

Goldie lived a few years in Sacramento after her husband's death death and then moved with their two sons to her parents' rural Monument, Kansas home, to live with her older brother Levi Wassemiller who had purchased their parents' home.
