Leola J. Cavitt, 92, of Springfield died Monday, April 10, 2006, at Regency Nursing Care Residence. She was born April 23, 1913, in Springfield, the daughter of Fred and Loudie Green Luers. She married John W. Cavitt in 1933; he died in 1982.
Mrs. Cavitt worked for Continental and Aetna Insurance Co. from 1954 to 1976. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mary Circle of the Women's Society and Homemakers Extension Association and a life member of Springfield Ceramics and Crafts Club.
Survivors: daughter, Betty (husband, Paul) Awe of Pekin; son, John F. (wife, Mary Jane) Cavitt of Springfield; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services: First United Methodist Church-Downtown, Dr. Roger K. Rominger officiating. Interment: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
