Mrs. Cavitt worked for Continental and Aetna Insurance Co. from 1954 to 1976. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mary Circle of the Women's Society and Homemakers Extension Association and a life member of Springfield Ceramics and Crafts Club.
Survivors: daughter, Betty (husband, Paul) Awe of Pekin; son, John F. (wife, Mary Jane) Cavitt of Springfield; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services: First United Methodist Church-Downtown, Dr. Roger K. Rominger officiating. Interment: Oak Ridge Cemetery.
