HERBERT ROOS

Herbert F. Roos, 90, of rural Havana, died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, November 12, 1987, in the Mason District Hospital at Havana, IL.

Funeral services were held Saturday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church. The Reverand Raymond Gage officiated.

Burial was in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Havana, IL.

Born December 6, 1896 in Chestnut, IL, he was the son of Christian and Christine Rentschler Roos.

He married Edith Berthel on August 16, 1923 in Lincoln, IL. She died November 29, 1971.

Surviving are two sons, Melvin H. and Herbert C., both of Havana; two daughters, Mrs.. Edward (Constance) Fetzer of St. Germaine, WI, and Mrs. Robert (Judith) Volle of Springfield, IL; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two sisters, Ferne Hassebrock of Decatur, IL and Florence Frahlman of Florida.

Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Roos had been a lifelong farmer. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
